It smelled so delicious that Ninja decided she wanted some soup, too.
My super high-tech “to-do” list… people like to make fun of it, but you know what, it gets the job done.
On Friday afternoon, I received a job offer to work for the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (my husband’s boss’s boss).
I decided to be very selective in where I applied, I only sent my materials to five places. From those five, I’ve had three interviews. And at this point, I don’t need to see how anything else pans out — this was the job I wanted most.
Amazing benefits. Free tuition for me and my mister (no fees for me and I can use it for grad coursework). I get to have lunch with my husband (his office is one building over). I’ll even have my own student worker.
Total bliss. I know it’s going to be challenging, but I’m up for it. My last job, while I did like it, was boring. Same old, same old every single day. So, remind me if it gets crazy that I wanted this… :)
I hope you are all having a great weekend, too!
And then some days this is what lunch looks like… oops. At least my vending machine coffee is kinda of tasty.
We spent the afternoon at the Westside Market… Gosh, I love that place! Found some delicious treasures.
Behold, my treasure from the market… a purple pepper! I never even knew that there was such a thing. The woman I bought them from grows them herself and said the are an heirloom variety.
Can’t wait to make something with them.
We finally have a condo! We don’t get to move in for another two weeks… but I’m just glad we have it!
The rental market around here (for places that are nice, allow animals, and are far away from undergrads), is a little nuts. We toured almost 12 places… and my heart was broken a little when we didn’t get the first place I really wanted because of my sweet little cat. In the end, I’m glad we’re where we are…
…wood floors, granite counter tops, a DISHWASHER, our own washer and dryer, a garage, two whole bathrooms, a gym, and a pool…
If you understood how much I disliked my old apartment, maybe you’d understand how happy I am.
My husband always gives baristas different Stars Wars names… this time around he found a poor, misinformed geek barista.
We took a drive up to Presque Isle on Sunday to relax on the beach and see the sunset. It is so lovely there and I haven’t been there in nearly seven years (right before we moved away).
I can hardly wait to visit in the autumn.
Home, at last…
We’re staying with family until we find an apartment/house, which is pretty nice. I know the novelty will wear off, but for now I enjoy not having any chores or major responsibilities. Woo.
Maybe that means I will actually have time for Tumblr?!
This made my night.
Well, the philosopher’s contracts are signed, so it is finally official… we’re moving!
Now we have the immense task of packing up all of our belongings and moving them to Ohio. You never really realize just how many things you own until you need to pack them all up into boxes.
Also, we have seem to have a bit of a book problem. ;)
Well, I’ve been doing so well recently… then boom. Ugh. It’s not as bad as it had been in the past, but pain still sucks.
However, this meme seriously has me rolling. :)
Bad, bad Ashley… I only meant to give up social media for Lent.
I’ve been away from Tumblr for too darn long.
